PRS-designed pickups

This SE CE 24 is loaded with Paul Reed Smith-designed 85/15 "S" humbucking pickups. An update on PRS's original humbuckers, the 85/15 "S"s are designed to sound terrific whether used in humbucking or single-coil modes. Musiekwereld guitarists have discovered they offer plenty of output for driving your amp hard while sounding clear and detailed when you want. These SE humbuckers closely resemble the tones of the US-made versions found in the solidbody electric guitars.

Every aspect of the SE CE 24 has been crafted to allow for an unrestricted playing experience. The maple neck is capped with a beautiful piece of rosewood that feels sleek under the fingers, while its 10-inch fretboard radius aids in wide bends and nimble string-to-string playing. The neck also boasts PRS's famed Wide Thin neck carve that is full enough to remain comfortable, but thin enough for you to fly up and down the frets.

Since 1988, the CE series has served as Paul Reed Smith’s premier line of bolt-on electric guitars. While the vast majority of PRS guitars come equipped with a mahogany set-neck construction, guitars such as this SE CE 24 instead feature a sturdy 4-bolt maple neck. What’s the difference? The bolt-on neck found on CE-series PRS guitars transforms your tone with a sharper attack and a somewhat more percussive snap to your notes. There’s no better or worse — both set-neck and bolt-on neck PRS guitars boast a tone all their own, each with a past rooted in the long and storied tradition of electric guitar building.
